How to make a Matcha Spritz
A Good & Proper recipe for a lighter, more refreshing way to enjoy matcha – the Matcha Spritz.
A zingy, sparkling serve made with our vibrant House Matcha, soda water, and a dash of elderflower – a perfect alternative to a classic iced matcha latte. Refreshing, uplifting and made for sunny days.
What you need (per drink)
- 3g House Matcha
- 40ml 80° water
- 20ml elderflower cordial
- 100ml soda water
- Lemon zest for garnish
- Ice
Method

Sieve 3g matcha into a wide-sided bowl or chawan.
- Add a splash of hot water (80°C).
- Use your bamboo whisk (chasen) to make a smooth paste, ensuring there are no lumps.
- Add 40ml hot water (80°C).
- Whisk using a zig-zag motion to combine into a smooth froth.
- Prepare your glass with plenty of ice before adding your soda water, elderflower, and matcha shot.
- Stir generously.
- Garnish with a long lemon zest.
