How to make a Hojicha Latte

All the flavour and less of the caffeine, our Hojicha Powder makes a warming latte for any time of the day. It's the perfect blend of roasted nutty, caramel-like sweetness, and traditionally enjoyed as an after-dinner treat in Japan.

Here's how we make ours:

What you need

Method for making Hojicha Latte

  1. Sieve 3g of Hojicha powder into a small, high-sided bowl or Matcha bowl (Chawan)
  2. Add a little of your hot (not boiling) water & whisk into a smooth paste until no lumps remain
  3. Add the remaining hot water & whisk using a zig-zag motion into a smooth froth
  4. Steam milk (If you're at home - heat in a pan until it just starts to simmer. For an extra velvety finish, pour your hot milk into a cafetiere and pulse up and down enthusiastically for 30 seconds!).
  5. Pour milk over your shot to serve
  6. Enjoy
