AM2_9190-Edit.jpg

Join us for the first in our 'A Cup of Tea with' interview series, as journalist Hannah Macinnes, formerly of Newsnight, gets to know Ben Saunders, a leading polar explorer, just weeks before he leaves for his next expedition - to make the first solo and unsupported crossing of Antarctica. Watch the video for his 2014 adventure here.

Ben Saunders is one of the world’s leading polar explorers, and a record-breaking long-distance skier who has covered more than 3,700 miles on foot in the Polar Regions since 2001. In 2014 Ben completed The Scott Expedition – the longest human-powered polar journey in history, and the first completion of the expedition that defeated Captain Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton, a 105-day round-trip from Ross Island on the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole and back again. Ben is also the third person in history to ski solo to the North Pole, and holds the record for the longest solo Arctic journey by a Briton.

Hannah MacInnes is a freelance broadcast journalist. Before going freelance she spent 7 years working for BBC Newsnight, the BBC's flagship news and current affairs programme, as Planning Editor and film maker. She chairs at various events, including for the How To Academy, and when not working can usually be found outdoors, either running or swimming.

Field-Day-van-web-ready.jpg

Free festival after-party!

As well as having our wonderful Tea Bar on Leather Lane, we are also very proud to still be serving up brews from our first home, our converted Citroen-H van. For most of the year you can find Watson (the name our Kickstarter backers gave the van back in 2012!) at Brockley Market on a Saturday, however during the summer he takes to the road, stuffed full of crumpets and loose leaf tea, and heads to festivals across the UK.

This summer has been no different, and Watson (+ our incredible Festival Manager, Abi) are now returning to London after surviving a total of 11 festivals. We're delighted to have him (and her) back with us and so would love to invite you to celebrate the end of a wonderful summer with us. 7-10pm Thursday 21st Sept on Leather Lane.
Please join us for a festival inspired evening at our London home, full of live music, free tea-inspired cocktails, Partizan Brewing beers, + other booze, crumpets and snacks.

Invite all of your friends as we keep summer 2017 alive for just one more night.
