This full-bodied Nepalese tea is grown in the foothills of Mt. Kanchanjangha by the team at the Kanchanjangha Tea Estate. With a honey-sweet aroma, this is a wonderfully fruity black tea.
A Gold winner at the 2024 Leafies - Kumari Gold is an aromatic, golden black tea that will wow tea beginners and experts alike.
Grown at a high elevation (between 4,200 - 6,000ft), the flavour of the resulting liquor is not unlike those from nearby Darjeeling. Expect caramel and brown sugar aromas, baked fruit and honey notes, with an earthy long-lasting finish.
Borrowing her middle name, this special tea is a dedication to Dambar Kumari who planted the first tea bush on their estate in 1984.
And just like the rest of our plastic-free packaging, our Guest Tea tubes are fully recyclable.

More about this tea
The Kanchanjangha Tea Estate was founded in 1984 with the mission to eliminate poverty in the neighborhood. Nestled in the foothills of Mt. Kanchanjangha - the third-highest mountain in the world - this tea estate has the best of Himalayan climate conditions, allowing them to produce distinctive and fragrant teas. Since the beginning, the Kanchanjangha Tea Estate has operated as a social enterprise, working on cooperative infrastructure and prioritising people and the environment over profit.
Why Tea Deserves Better
For too long, tea in the UK has meant cheap, dusty bags – designed for speed, not taste. As a tea-not-coffee drinker, our founder Emilie wanted more. So in 2012, she bought an old Citroën van, crowdfunded its conversion into a mobile tea bar, and started brewing proper, loose-leaf tea at events and markets around London.
What began in a van has grown into a business on a mission: to show just how good tea can be, when it’s done properly. That means better leaves, sourced with care from producers that align with our values, then brewed properly for maximum flavour. 12 years on, that mission remains the same and Good & Proper is now the proud supplier to the UK’s best cafes, restaurants, hotels and more, as well as to a loyal community of tea drinkers at home.
Our Teas
We work hard to source the best-tasting, whole-leaf teas, from producers around the world that align with our values. From Assam to Matcha, Earl Grey to Darjeeling, every batch is carefully selected by our founder, Emilie. And if it isn’t a cup of tea worth talking about, it doesn’t make the cut.
