How to make iced tea (cold brew)

By Emilie Holmes + video by Will Warr

There are few things more refreshing than an iced tea on a hot day, and instead of using the traditional way of hot brewing the tea, then serving over ice, we prefer to cold brew. The cold infusion extracts less catechins and less caffeine, making for a smoother, sweeter and more delicate cup. Plus it couldn’t be easier!

What you need

  • 6g of tea per litre (approx 3 heaped tsp)
  • 1 litre filtered water
  • Ice

Method

1. Measure your tea into a resealable bottle full of filtered water

2. Place the lid on and flip it once to ensure all the leaves are submerged

3. Leave to infuse in the fridge overnight (approx 8-10 hours depending on the tea)

4. Strain & pour over ice.
